Riccione's Hidden Gem: Villa Lidia's Unbelievable Luxury Awaits!
Okay, buckle up buttercups, because I'm about to spill the tea on Villa Lidia in Riccione. And let me tell you, this "Hidden Gem" ain't just hiding – it's practically glowing with luxury. Now, I'm not usually one for the "unbelievable" hype, but honestly, this place nearly blew my socks off. And yes, I brought socks. Don't judge.
First Impressions (and a Near Disaster):
Okay, so arriving at Villa Lidia… wow. Think Italian villa meets modern chic. There's a reason they call it a "hidden gem." It's tucked away, which is great for privacy… but trying to find it in the chaotic Riccione traffic? Let's just say my GPS had a meltdown. I was sweating, late, and convinced I'd driven into a parallel dimension. But then, BAM! The gates opened. A majestic, beautiful wrought-iron gate. And suddenly, I was in another world. A world where anxiety melts away like gelato on a summer day.
Accessibility & Safety: Because, You Know, We Need That!
Right, so, let's get the practical stuff out of the way. Accessibility? They get major points. The website says "Facilities for disabled guests," and they mean it. Elevator access (phew!), and I saw ramps everywhere. Made me feel good to see that kind of attention to detail. Safety? Oh, they're serious. CCTV everywhere, 24-hour front desk, security personnel, and a fire extinguisher in every room. Made me feel safe, and hey, that's a HUGE plus especially since I'm usually a nervous wreck. Then there's the CCTV outside property too! And I appreciated the hand sanitizer everywhere (we're all still a bit post-pandemic, right?) plus seeing signs for Daily disinfection in common areas, plus it's all very reassuring. They also have first aid kit, a nurse and doctor on call.
Cleanliness and Safety: Feeling Spoiled AND Protected? Yes, Please!
Okay, I'm a bit of a germaphobe. Judge me. But Villa Lidia gets it. Like, really gets it. They're on top of their game with that. Anti-viral cleaning products? Check. Rooms sanitized between stays? Double-check. Rooms sanitization opt-out available? Genius. They even have professional-grade sanitizing services. You know, the kind that you wish your own home had. The whole place just sparkles! They also have hot water linen and laundry washing and hygiene certifications.
The Room: My Little Palace (with a View!)
Okay, so I was lucky enough to snag a room on a high floor. The blackout curtains meant I actually slept until a reasonable hour, which is a godsend on holidays. The bed? Heavenly. Seriously. It was an extra-long bed, and I sprawled like a starfish. Bathrobes and slippers? Obviously. Free Wi-Fi in all rooms? Duh. And it worked. Everywhere. I spent a good hour just scrolling through Instagram, daydreaming about all the pasta I was going to eat. They even had a laptop workspace, which was good for when I pretended to work. The safe box? Used it. You know, because I'm cautious. The min-bar was stocked with stuff (I maybe indulged in a mini-chocolate bar or two). The shower was heaven and they had a separate shower/bathtub. The air conditioning was a lifesaver, especially when it was scorching outside. The complimentary tea and coffee maker kept me happy. They even had a scale in the bathroom! (I mostly hid from it, if I'm being honest.) To add to that, the room came with a mirror, desk, closet, hair dryer, towels, complementary water, internet access, safety/security feature, soundproofing, wake-up service, toiletries, desk, and window that opens. I mean, seriously? It's the little things! If I could pick a flaw, I'd say finding the internet access – LAN was a little difficult, because it's 2024…
Drowning in Pure Pampering: The Spa Experience (and the Unexpected Tears)
Alright, now for the real reason you should book this place: the spa. Oh. My. Goddess. I spent the most time in the Sauna, Spa, Spa/sauna, Steamroom, Pool with view, Swimming pool, Swimming pool [outdoor], because the experience was just incredible.
I opted for the full shebang: Body scrub, Body wrap, the works. And let me tell you, it was transformative. The spa itself is beautiful, a true oasis of tranquility in Riccione's hustle and bustle. After my scrub, I wandered to the sauna and steam room. Then, it was onto the treatment rooms. The masseuse was incredible. I have serious tension issues, and she managed to knead out knots I didn't even know I had. I'm not kidding, I almost cried. It was partly because of the pain and partly because of pure, blissful release. I’ve never felt so relaxed in my life. Now the massage was not all I enjoyed, because it was all the other things too. I also had the foot bath, because duh. Then the gym/fitness was there too, but I didn't want to risk getting rid of what I had going in the spa.
The Pool with view, was another beautiful experience. Sitting there, sipping water, watching the world go by… it made me realize how much I needed this escape. And finally, ending the day with a nice swim at the swimming pool. This whole spa experience was so powerful, I almost forgot how to do everyday life.
Dining, Drinking, and Snacking: Can We Say "Food Coma"?
Let's be honest, travelling is all about eating, am I right? Villa Lidia delivered. Big time. The Breakfast [buffet] was a glorious sight (and even had Asian breakfast options). And the coffee/tea in restaurant and coffee shop were divine. I went straight for the pastries, obviously. Everything was fresh, the staff were friendly, and I indulged in my favorite Western breakfast. I also managed to get some of the daily house keeping, to keep me in good shape. They had an A la carte in restaurant and a Buffet in restaurant that provided me with plenty of flavor experiences. The other restaurants provided me with a flavor of International cuisine in restaurant, Western cuisine in restaurant, Asian cuisine in restaurant. I was happy to get a bottle of water so I never dehydrated. When I wanted to snack, I indulged in the snack bar. They provided salad in restaurant, soup in restaurant, and desserts in restaurant for my pleasure. And, yes, the bars was delicious, especially with the poolside bar. With all that said, there's a vegetarian restaurant, so everyone can have a great time. They even provided breakfast takeaway service.
And the room service [24-hour]? Perfect for when that late-night gelato craving hit (it happened). There was even a Happy hour, which, let's be honest, is always a good thing. They even provided me with essential condiments. And, of course, all the sanitized kitchen and tableware items ensured that everything stayed that way.
Services and Conveniences: Seriously, They've Thought of Everything
Okay, this is where Villa Lidia really shines. The concierge was incredibly helpful, making recommendations and helping me book things. There’s a convenience store which is handy, especially when you forget something (me!). They also have a gift/souvenir shop, so you can show off your trip to everyone back home. The daily housekeeping was a lifesaver. I mean, I make a mess. There's a laundry service (thank god). The luggage storage was handy, so I didn't have to drag my bags all over the place. They even have a currency exchange and a cash withdrawal service! I definitely felt cared for. They also provide doorman available.
They also provide Air conditioning in public area, Food delivery, Indoor venue for special events, Outdoor venue for special events, Safety deposit boxes, Terrace.
For The Kids: Family Fun (If You Want It)
I didn't bring any kids, but Villa Lidia is definitely family-friendly. They had kids facilities and a babysitting service. Plus, I saw plenty of kids playing in the pool. They even provide kids meal.
Getting Around: Smooth Sailing (Mostly)
Villa Lidia offers airport transfer and a taxi service, which is super convenient. If you're driving, the car park [free of charge] is a huge bonus. They also offer car park [on-site], bicycle parking, **car power
Bali Paradise Found! ✨ OYO 90540 Swan Guest House: Your Dream Getaway Awaits
Okay, buckle up, buttercups! Because this isn't your grandma's meticulously color-coded itinerary. This, my friends, is the raw, messy, and hopefully hilarious chronicle of my Riccione adventure, at the esteemed (and hopefully comfortable) Residenza Villa Lidia. Prepare for a rollercoaster of emotions, accidental gelato spills, and questionable life choices. Let's go!
Operation: Riccione Rhapsody (or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Italian Sun)
Day 1: Arrival, Apprehension, and Aperitivo Anxiety
- 10:00 AM: Land at Bologna Airport (BLQ). Ugh. Airports. The sterile purgatory of humanity. Immediately commence internal grumbling about delayed flights and the crushing weight of my carry-on. Also, where's the espresso? It's not a proper entry to Italy without a shot of caffeine to my soul.
- 11:30 AM: Arrive at Residenza Villa Lidia. Oh wow, it's prettier than the pictures, Thank god! My overthinking brain starts the mental checklist: room clean? Bed comfy? Does the AC work? Can I reach the Wi-Fi from the balcony? (Vital for Instagram bragging rights, you know.)
- 12:00 PM: Check-in. The woman at reception, bless her heart, seemed to be speaking Italian at the speed of light. I feebly managed to piece together a response, probably sounding like I was ordering a pizza. But I got the key! Victory.
- 1:00 PM: The Room! OMG, it's beautiful! Simple, clean, bright. The bathroom (a key stress point) is sparkling. Score! I promptly unpack (okay, toss my clothes haphazardly into a drawer) and collapse onto the bed. Jet lag is a brutal beast.
- 2:00 PM: Lunch. Find a little cafe a few blocks away. Had a delicious plate of pasta. The waiter's smile was genuine. The perfect start to my trip!
- 4:00 PM: Nap. A glorious, guilt-free nap. Needed that to reset.
- 6:00 PM: Aperitivo time! This is where the anxiety kicks in. Italians. They’re stylish, they're sophisticated, they're probably judging my touristy outfit. I attempt to navigate the Aperitivo scene at a local bar, feeling hopelessly awkward. Order a Negroni (because, Italy!) and try to look like I belong. Fail. But hey, the drink is good, and the little snacks are divine!
- 8:00 PM: Dinner, solo. Ate at the restaurant nearby, the food was pretty good! Now I'm ready to crawl into bed.
Day 2: Beach Babes and Gelato Gluttony – The Day I Embraced My Inner Tourist
- 8:00 AM: Wake up! Feeling pretty rested.
- 9:00 AM: Breakfast at the Residenza. The spread isn't massive, but it's decent, and the coffee is surprisingly good. Important.
- 10:00 AM: Beach Day! Hired one of those brightly striped beach umbrellas and a sunbed. Spent the next few hours alternating between blissful sunbathing, reading a book (which I promptly lost track of as I people-watched), and occasional dips in the Adriatic. The water? Pure paradise. The beach volleyball game? Humorous.
- 1:00 PM: Lunch at a Chiringuito (beach bar, for the uninitiated). Seafood, obviously. Maybe a little too much seafood. Is there such a thing?
- 3:00 PM: Gelato, of course! Stumbling upon a gelato shop, I lost all self-control and went for it: two scoops. Pistachio and Stracciatella. Pure, unadulterated joy. As I savored my icy treat walking through the sun, some gelato dripped on my favorite shirt. Great.
- 4:00 PM: Promenade! Walked along the beach promenade, watching the locals strolling, laughing, and generally looking effortlessly chic. Felt like a total tourist, but I didn't care.
- 6:00 PM: A swim! The water this time of the day is so refreshing.
- 8:00 PM: Dinner at a pizzeria. The pizza was ridiculously good. I ordered too much, but I didn't regret a single bite.
- 9:00 PM: Back to Residenza, watch a show and crash.
Day 3: Markets, Mayhem, and Motorcycle Dreams
- 9:00 AM: Breakfast. I have a rhythm down.
- 10:00 AM: Today I go to the local market. The vibrant colors, the boisterous vendors, the smell of fresh produce… it was sensory overload in the best way possible. Bought a few things I could not identify, but they seemed exciting.
- 12:00 PM: Lunch at a small trattoria. Again, pasta. Why does everything taste better in Italy?!
- 2:00 PM: The most ridiculous thing happened. I was walking down the street, and there it was - a Vespa rental shop. And the thought just exploded in my head. "I must ride that." Now, I've got zero experience with motorcycles, but that didn't matter at all. I got some instruction, got on the scooter, and went. I nearly died of joy. The wind in my hair (okay, more like helmet head), the freedom of the open road… it was pure, unadulterated exhilaration.
- 4:00 PM: Back to the hotel. Oh god, it's so hot.
- 6:00 PM: Dinner at a trattoria, I had a delicious seafood dish.
- 8:00 PM: Writing in my journal, and falling asleep.
Day 4: Day trip coming soon!
- 9:00 AM: Breakfast.
- 10:00 AM: Today I go to the beach to think about what I want to see.
- 12:00 PM: Lunch at a restaurant near the beach.
- 2:00 PM: I've decided on a day trip to San Marino!
- 4:00 PM: Back to the hotel. Oh god, it's so hot.
- 6:00 PM: Dinner at a trattoria, I had a delicious seafood dish.
- 8:00 PM: Packing my bag and falling asleep.
Day 5: San Marino – A Tiny Country, a Huge Adventure
- 9:00 AM: Breakfast.
- 10:00 AM: Board the bus to San Marino!
- 12:00 PM: Arrive at San Marino! What an awesome place.
- 2:00 PM: Lunch!
- 4:00 PM: Back to the hotel. Oh god, it's so hot.
- 6:00 PM: Dinner at a trattoria, I had a delicious seafood dish.
- 8:00 PM: Packing my bag and falling asleep.
Day 6: Departure Day – Farewell, Riccione, You Magnificent Mess!
- 9:00 AM: Last breakfast at Villa Lidia. Trying to savor every last sip of that perfect cappuccino.
- 10:00 AM: Final stroll along the beach. The sun is shining, the waves are lapping… and I'm already starting to miss it.
- 11:00 AM: Checkout. A surprisingly smooth process, no language barriers this time!
- 12:00 PM: Lunch near the train station.
- 1:00 PM: Head to Bologna airport.
- 3:00 PM: Get on the plane! One last look at the Italian coastline.
- 6:00 PM: Back home!
- 7:00 PM: Telling myself I'll be back.
Overall Assessment: Riccione, you exceeded all expectations. Forget the perfect Instagram photos. It's the messy moments, the unexpected adventures, and the unexpected encounters that make a trip truly unforgettable. So, arrivederci, Riccione! Until next time, and trust me, there will be a next time."

The website brags about the "unbelievable luxury." Is it true? Don't lie to me.

Is it kid-friendly? Because my offspring are… energetic.
What about the spa? Tell me about the spa!

Anything I should be aware of before I go? Any inside tips?
- Book the spa treatments in advance. Seriously. They fill up *fast*.

- Be prepared to be slightly disappointed. No place is perfect. But Villa Lidia is pretty darn close. And that's good enough.
